The Kathryn Chamberlain Teacher Leadership Award

APPLICATIONS ARE BEING ACCEPTED FOR THE 2024 KATHRYN CHAMBERLAIN TEACHER LEADERSHIP AWARD

WHAT IS THE KATHRYN CHAMBERLAIN TEACHER LEADERSHIP AWARD?

The Kathryn Chamberlain Teacher Award seeks to honor the life and legacy of Kathryn (Iams) Chamberlain. Kathryn’s life-long dedication to music, teaching, and arts administration inspired her husband, Oliver, to establish this award in her memory. To learn more about Oliver’s tribute and the life of Oakwood Alumn Kathryn (Iams) Chamberlain, visit oakwoodschoolsfoundation.org/donor-spotlight.

Each year, the Oakwood Schools Foundation (OSF) and the Chamberlain Family Trust accept applications from teachers within the Oakwood City Schools District to receive the Kathryn Chamberlain Teacher Leadership Award. This annual award seeks to honor a district teacher who has demonstrated leadership and to support a special project of the teacher’s with a one-time award of $1,000. The Chamberlain Family Trust will provide up to $700 additionally for costs of the project to the school or department in which the teacher works.

This award will be given directly to a teacher, for use at their discretion (e.g.: educational travel, or study, or similar), who has demonstrated leadership qualities in devising, leading, and who will bring to others the outcomes of a project. The project should engage all students in a class or group and challenge them to contribute to the goal of the project.

Applications will be accepted until midnight on April 30, 2024.
