Trustees of the Oakwood Schools Foundation (OSF) are making remarkable strides in their Flourish Phase 2 initiative, aimed at enhancing the Oakwood Auditorium.

“We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve reached 75% of our $800,000 fundraising goal for this project, which will significantly upgrade our theatrical facilities.” Said vice chair and chair of the development committee, Amy Martin.

The planned improvements include new theatrical rigging, increased electrical capacity, a state-of-the-art soundboard, as well as audio and lighting upgrades. These enhancements are designed to ensure the Oakwood Auditorium continues to meet the needs of future generations of Oakwood students and theatre enthusiasts.

Reviving a successful initiative from two decades ago, OSF is offering alumni and community members the chance to leave a lasting legacy on the beloved auditorium. For $550, supporters  may name a seat and have up to four lines of text engraved on a new armrest plaque. “This is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to the aspirations of our current and future artists while commemorating a family member, classmate, beloved teacher or life experience,” continued Martin.

To honor contributors to the past campaign, supporters are being offered the exclusive first opportunity to once again make their mark and should visit OSF’s website to read past plaque inscriptions and relive the shared memories experienced in the auditorium. OSF encourages those interested to consider honoring a loved one, commemorate their family, or inspire future performers with a quote that resonates with the spirit of Oakwood.

“Supporters are more than just a name on a seat; they are making an investment in the arts, in our students, and in a space where community and creativity flourish together.” added Kevin Jones, Chair of the Board and of the Flourish Steering Committee.
